@carpentersdaughter2 Where do you get this ridiculous info?? Does the Bible state that incest was OK back in the time of Cain and Seth or are you merely making up stories?? And when exactly did incest go from being OK to a sin??

  11. countach13 says:

    Carpentersdaughter. …
Carpentersdaughter…earlier you asked for proof that the Bible was wrong so I submit the following:

Jesus’ final words as he dies on the cross:

The Gospel of John claims in 19:3 that they were “It is finished”

Matthew 27:45 and Mark 15:33 have Jesus’ final words as being “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

Luke 23:44 makes the final utterance “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”

So what are we to believe?? If something this important is fouled up, what else is??

  12. carpentersdaughter2 says:

    @christineshires …
@christineshires That is funny and cute too.

  13. christineshires says:

    Hello, Here is a …
Hello, Here is a sign that I saw in my hometown at a church last winter. It said….SNOWMEN COME FROM HEAVEN UNASSEMBLED. I thought it was cute!

  14. carpentersdaughter2 says:

    This is the thing …
This is the thing about the Bible that God wants everyone to realize, that man is a creature that sins and goes his own way. I don’t like what David did, and God didn’t like what David did. God would not allow David to build the Temple because God said he was a man of war. David paid a high price for what he did. The conquences were very high.

God also said that David was a man after God’s own heart. This shows that on one is perfect but God can still love them and save them if they want it.

  15. countach13 says:

    I admit that my …
I admit that my knowledge of the Bible is limited…but I am far from ignorant. Tell me, do you believe that that sex between King David and Bathsheba was a beautiful thing while she was still married to Uriah?? And what of King David’s ploy to have Uriah killed in battle to conceal his fornication?? True believers speak of David as a hero…he is no better than any other man…and a lot worse than many.

  16. carpentersdaughter2 says:

    You have to realize …
You have to realize that not believing in God is faith too. The odds that all that we see came from nothing BY nothing is impossible.

IT goes to show your ignorance of the Bible too by what you said. You would know how God intervenes, and yes, the Bible speaks of sex as a beautiful thing incorporated by God, and when done in the boundaires of marriage. If everyone did what was right, there would be no sexual diseases.

No, go play, you have made your opinion known.

  17. countach13 says:

    No, it doesn’t …
No, it doesn’t really matter how it happened…IF…it happened. So far, you have not offered one shred of evidence that any of these things actually happened.

  18. countach13 says:

    Funny, you asked …
Funny, you asked for proof…but when the tables are turned, you cannot offer any to support your position. Everything that you say is based on faith, not fact. I’m not saying that there isn’t a supreme being, merely that the Bible is full of fallacies and contradictions. I find it disturbing that so many use the Bible to tell the rest of us how to live…particularly when the Old Testament contains more sex and violence (and according to you, incest) than any racy TV show.

  19. carpentersdaughter2 says:

    countach:

    Now …
    countach:

Now your asking me to prove something that I can’t. The water came from the earth and it evaporated down so Noah and his family could be on land again. It took a very long time for the water to evaporate.

These things are not hard to believe when we know God created all that there is.

In Jesus day the religious leaders said how us a sign, and we’ll believe, but Jesus said believe and I will show you.

Once you truly believe, Jesus does show you. that’s all I can say.

  20. carpentersdaughter2 says:

    countach:
    Does it …

    countach:
Does it really, really matter how? If it happened, then it doesn’t matter how it happened.

Now as far as Cain and Abel, back then the gene pool wasn’t corrupted, and incest wasn’t anything bad. Today incest causes abnormal babies, and this can’t and shouldn’t be done, but then the gene pool wasn’t corrupt with disease and other factors.

  21. countach13 says:

    I didn’t ask what …
I didn’t ask what the purpose of was for blowing down the walls of Jericho…I asked “HOW”. What horns did they have back then could cause ten foot thick stone and earthen walls to crumble??

Oh, and one more question…Who did Cain and Seth marry?? If Adam and Eve where the first two inhabitants, where did the “girls” come from?? I’ve heard some say that Cain and Seth married siblings…if so, would this then mean that the Bible endorses incest? If not, then where did they come from?

  22. countach13 says:

    I’m asking you for …
I’m asking you for proof. Where is this large reservoir which supposedly contained enough water to drown the Earth?? And where did the water go? Did God pull the bathtub plug??

The striations which you see on the walls of the Grand Canyon are water lines created erosion. Any geologist will confirm that the canyon has been “cut” but the Colorado River…not some mythical deluge.

  23. carpentersdaughter2 says:

    continued 2

    Adam …
    continued 2

Adam and Eve could have been around for millions of years before they sinned. This would explain why the earth could be so old. But mind you that is just my opinion. I don’t say that as a fact but only an opinion.

You have to realize that to believe that God created this universe and all that we see, then it’s easy to believe the miracles He did and the things he performed. The purpose of blowing down the walls was for obedience from Joshua.

  24. carpentersdaughter2 says:

    The waters from the …
The waters from the flood came from the deep, meaning the water was in the earth and sprung up, and it rained also for those forty days and nights.

I live in Utah, and I can go to Mount Tippnogos and see the water lines. The same for the Grand Canyon…The water lines are easy to see.

The Bible never says the earth is six thousand years old. Some take it to be that because God made everything in six days or six thousand years, but what most Christians don’t realize is that

  25. countach13 says:

    Hello …
    Hello Carpentersdaughter,

Instead of asking us to prove a negative, why don’t you prove that the stories in the Bible are true. For example:

If there was actually a flood that drowned the entire Earth, where did the water come from?? And where did it go?

If the Earth is only approximately 6000 years old, then how do you explain fossils of creatures hundreds of millions of years old??

By what mechanism did horns blow down the walls of Jericho??

    I await your answers….
